Pioneers of Rustic Amish Furniture in the Blue Ridge Mountains

Founded in 2002 by Ray and Kathy Norton, Beds Etc. Amish Home Furniture began with a simple but powerful vision: to bring authentic, handcrafted rustic cabin furniture to the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Long before the mountain towns became a destination for rustic design, Ray and Kathy were already curating warm, timeless pieces that captured the spirit of mountain living.

As the first to introduce Amish-made rustic furniture to the region, they set the standard that many have followed—but none have truly matched. What sets Beds Etc. apart is not just our legacy, but the deep, exclusive relationships we've built within Amish communities across Pennsylvania, Indiana, Ohio, and Virginia.

Exclusively Handcrafted, Never Mass-Produced

While many local competitors source their inventory from furniture auctions or bulk resellers, we take a different path. Every piece we sell is hand-selected, crafted by skilled Amish artisans who build exclusively for Beds Etc.

Ray and Kathy personally travel to Pennsylvania every month to meet with our Amish partners, walk the farms, discuss new furniture designs, and bring fresh ideas back to our store in the mountains. These are not just transactions—they are trusted relationships forged over two decades.

Our Amish builders know us by name. They know our customers' desire for heirloom quality, and they build each piece with the kind of craftsmanship that’s nearly impossible to find elsewhere.

Unmatched Quality & Transparent Pricing

Unlike many retailers, our prices come directly from the Amish craftsmen themselves. Many of our items are on consignment, which means you pay fair pricing without the heavy retail markup often found in similar stores.

This model allows us to offer exclusive designs at exceptional value, while maintaining a close connection between builder and buyer. You're not just buying a piece of furniture—you’re investing in a story of tradition, family, and quality that spans generations.

Still Family-Run, Still True to Our Roots

More than 20 years later, Ray and Kathy Norton still remain actively involved in the day-to-day operations of Beds Etc. They continue to guide our values, select our collections, and ensure that every customer feels like part of the family.

We are proud to have become a destination for homeowners, cabin owners, and rustic design lovers from all over the Southeast who seek out the authenticity, durability, and story behind each handmade piece.
